Get Your Dog into Costume
Dogs love Halloween. That's just a fact. They get to bark at little kids all night. But getting Fido into that full-body Robocop costume you spent all weekend making can be a little tricky. Here are a few tips that might make your life easier.
1. Use the element of surprise. Dogs know what's up. You get out their leash, they know it's time for a walk. Similarly, they see that little tiny ballerina costume and they'll be under the bed in seconds. Don't give them even a second to think about what you're up to. Pounce when they least expect it, all ninja-style.
2. Exhaustion is your friend. Chase your dog around the house a few times. Throw the tennis ball for like half an hour. Get him to where he's panting and rolled over on his back, too tuckered out to care that he's wearing an acid-washed jean jacket with white leather fringes.
3. Tag-team. Going solo will end in tears and biting. Get a partner to help you distract your dog while putting on that garter belt or Superman cape. Dogs like food and shiny things—try waving something like that in his face.
